Army felicitates ‘veer naris’ at Reasi

Jammu, Aug 11: Indian Army on Tuesday felicitated ‘veer naris’ at a function in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Defence Spokesperson here said that the supreme sacrifices made by their husbands in defence of the nation could never be repaid and the country would always be indebted to them.

To felicitate the Veer Naris from Reasi and adjoining areas, a ceremony was organised by Indian Army at Sila, Reasi.

The ceremony was aimed to interact with Veer Naris, understand their problems and other issues, and to provide information about the various Government welfare schemes applicable to them.

Special emphasis was given to address their pension related issues and discrepancies (if any) and other grievances requiring intervention of the Army.

This event was a reflection of an important tenet of the age old tradition and culture of the Indian Army to respect its soldiers who laid down their life for the nation, he added.

The Veer Naris expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards Indian Army and spoke highly of the efforts for honouring them.
