An Army para commando injured during the counter-terrorist operation in the Rafiabad area

In Jammu & Kashmir, an Army para commando was injured during the counter-terrorist operation in the Rafiabad area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district today.

Security sources said that a joint team of Army’s Para commandos, Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police cordoned off Veege top area of Rafiabad following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.

As the joint team approached the suspected hiding place the terrorists opened fire triggering an encounter.

An army commando sustained critical injuries in the initial phase of the gunfight. He has been evacuated to Military Hospital for specialized treatment
