AMU authorities withdraw circular of profiling J&K students

Jammu: Soon after, J&K Students Association (JKSA) had urged the Home Minister Amit Shah and University Authorities to withdraw circular of profiling Jammu and Kashmiri students issued by Aligarh Muslim University on the directions of Aligarh Police, University authorities have withdrawn the Circular of profiling J&K Students in AMU.

“No sort of profiling will be done in any Department of AMU and it’s affiliated Schools. Students should not feel worried now,” National Convenor of Association Nasir Khuehami said while thanking the Authorities for considering their request.

Days back, Aligarh Muslim University sought information of the students from Jammu and Kashmir enrolled in the varsity.

The university has been preparing the database of all enrolled students, while details of the students from Jammu and Kashmir has been sought separately. Presently 1300 JK students are enrolled in AMU.
