Altaf Bukhari elected Apni Party Chief for second term, unopposed

JAMMU: Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Friday was elected as the President of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party for the second consecutive term, unopposed.
Bukhari’s term has ended on March 8, and he is now elected for another three years till 2026.
No other candidate filed nomination for the post of party president, leading to the election of Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari as the president of Apni Party for the second consecutive term, JKAP general secretary Vijay Bakaya informed.
“As per details, received from both election sub offices from Srinagar and Jammu, there is only one nomination received for presidential candidate. Hence, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari is elected as the winner of the presidential election for the second consecutive term, as per the constitution of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party,” said Bakaya, who is also the Convener of JKAP election board.

“It is further declared that the present process of election of president JKAP comes to an end with immediate effect,” he added.
