Jammu: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Revenue Department on Monday appointed all Tehsildars in the UT, J&K as ‘Estate Officers’ with respect to their territorial jurisdiction.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Premises (Eviction of unauthorized Occupants) Act, 1988 (Act No. XVII of 1988) and in suppression of all the previous notifications issued on the subject, the government hereby appoint all Tehsildar(s) (Territorial/Nazool) in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to be the ‘Estate Officer’ for the purpose of the said Act,” the order read.
