After Pulwama, Kulgam, PAGD likely to grab Chairman, Vice Chairman posts in Anantnag on Thursday

Anantnag, Feb 10: After securing posts of Chairman and Vice Chairman in Pulwama and Kulgam district, PAGD is likely to secure posts of Chairman and Vice chairman in Anantnag on Thursday.

Leaders of both PDP and NC confirmed to news agency— that as Anantnag has been reserved for Scheduled Tribes so the joint candidate of PAGD will be Mohammad Yousuf Gorsi, who won from Pahalgam seat.

They said that for the post of vice chairman our joint candidate will be Advocater Javaid Ahmad who won DDC elections from Anantnag seat on PDP ticket.

Leaders also claimed that congress who have won three seats in DDC elections in Anantnag has also extended support to PAGD so total strength of PAGD is now 11 out of 14.

Sources said that even if Congress will join hands with independents then their strength will be just 6 and PAGD has 08, so PAGD will get both seats provided there is no cross voting.

Pertinently in Anantnag district NC has won six, PDP two, Congress three and three seats were won by independents.

Notably, elections for chairperson and vice person seats in Anantnag district are scheduled to be held tomorrow.

Furthermore, PAGD has secured posts of Chairman and vice chairman in Pulwama and Kulgam districts already.
