SRINAGAR: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) in Jammu and Kashmir has reopened the murder case of Retired Judge Neelkanth Ganjoo, who was shot dead here over three decades ago.
SIA has sought information from the general public to unearth the ”larger criminal conspiracy” behind the killing.
Ganju, who had awarded the death sentence to JKLF founder Maqbool Bhat, was shot dead by militants in this capital city on November 4, 1989, apparently to avenge his hanging.
In a statement issued here, an SIA spokesperson urged all persons familiar with facts or circumstances of this murder case to come forward and share any account of events which has direct or indirect bearing on the investigation of the instant case in order to unearth the “larger criminal conspiracy.”
The communique further adds that the identity of all such persons shall be kept completely hidden and protected besides all useful and relevant information shall be suitably rewarded.
“The public has been asked to contact on 8899004976 or on email [email protected] having any information related to this murder case,” the spokesperson added.
