Afghanistan: Several rockets heard flying over Kabul amid evacuation efforts, targets unclear

Amid evacuations efforts, several rockets were heard flying over Kabul a day after the United States said it had destroyed a potential car bomb with an airstrike, reports AFP.

However, it was not immediately clear where the rockets landed or what the targets were.

The US had on Sunday said that it has destroyed an explosive-laden vehicle with an airstrike in Kabul, hours after President Joe Biden warned of another terror attack in the capital as a massive airlift of tens of thousands of Afghans entered its last days.

“US military forces conducted a self-defence unmanned over-the-horizon airstrike today on a vehicle in Kabul, eliminating an imminent ISIS-K threat to Hamid Karzai International Airport. We’re confident we successfully hit the target,” Bill Urban, US Central Command spokesperson had said.
