India crossed another significant milestone in its fight against COVID, as the nation has registered less than 4 lakh active cases today after a span of 140 days.
With a continuous reduction in the number of active corona cases, the active caseload in the country stands at merely 4.10 per cent with nearly 3 lakh 96 thousand active cases.
The national cumulative recovery rate has also further improved to be at 94.45 per cent with recovery of nearly 91 lakh 40 thousand people so far.
The number of daily recoveries once again outnumbered the new daily cases for 10th consecutive day today.
The total recovered cases in the country stands at around 23 times the number of active cases.
The new daily positive cases also remained below the 50 thousand mark for 30th consecutive day today.
In the last 24 hours, 32 thousand 981 new confirmed cases were reported while 39 thousand 109 people recovered in the same time span.
The Health Ministry has informed that nearly 75 percent of the new covid cases are concentrated in 10 states and Union territories of Delhi, Maharashtra , Kerala, West Bengal, Haryana and Rajasthan among others.
It said that enhanced countrywide medical infrastructure, implementation of the Centre’s Standard Treatment Protocol by the States and Union Territories and total dedication and commitment of doctors, paramedics and frontline workers have led to a persistent increase in the number of total recoveries in the country.
The Health Ministry has said that this has also led to a commensurate dip in the fatality rate which stands at 1.45 per cent.
It informed that 391 case fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours.
