JAMMU: Additional Chief Secretary Health and Medical Education Department, Vivek Bharadwaj today observe the the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) has revolutionised the way official purchases and procurements take place.
Bharadwaj was speaking here today after inaugurating a workshop on “GeM Procurement and Supply Chain Management (DVDMS)” at Udhyog Bhawan. The workshop was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation Limited today organized a workshop which was attended by Chief Medical Officers, Block Medical Officers, Chief Accounts Officers besides dealing assistants of all the districts of Jammu province.
In his inaugural speech, ACS Bharadwaj described how GeM has revolutionized the government purchase and how important it is to learn the GeM procurement system. He expressed hope that the participants would optimally utilize their expertise gained out of this workshop for further streamlining of their working system.
Managing Director, JKMSCL, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, presented a brief description about the activities and achievements of the Corporation besides highlighting the emerging challenges being faced by the department at the grassroots level in procurement process. He gave a presentation on procurement and supply chain management through DVDMS.
GeM Certified Expert, L B Goutam, described GeM through its various modules and practical demonstrations on the subject.
Col Ashish Banergee, representative of Director General, AFMS, gave a session on “Medical procurement in supply chain management– Government e-market Places”.
Rohit Lohani, Director Global Smart Operations, Johnson and Johnson, gave a presentation on “Efficient Management and Regulating Material” for optimal inventory management.
