SRINAGAR: In Jammu and Kashmir, the absence of student scientific activity centres holds back the overall development of scientific temper among the students.

The official documents state that there was a need and demand for science labs and scientific activity centres to overcome the problem.

“There is a demand for science labs and scientific activity centre among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir,” it reads. The official documents further read, “Absence of student scientific activity centres in the Union Territory (UT) holds back the overall development of scientific temper among the students.”

It reads that these centres shall focus on frontier areas of science and technology and edutainment.

“These centres will work towards developing the scientific attitude and temper and inculcate and sustain a general awareness about technology amongst the people,” it reads.

According to the official documents, the authorities from Jammu and Kashmir have said that the centres shall also serve as a platform for students to experiment and experience the technology and the science behind everything and encourage students to take an interest in learning by doing and put theory to practical—(KNO)
