Seven districts completes 100% vaccination, Kupwara, Kishtwar lagging behind
SRINAGAR: As the Covid vaccination drive is going on in full scale in Jammu and Kashmir, around 98 percent of the population above 18 have received the first dose of Covid vaccine while around 43 percent have received a second jab.
According to the figures available in Srinagar, out of 9,38,065 people of above 18 age group, 9,24,828 (99 percent ) have received first jab and 3,06,536 (41 percent) have received second jab.
In Kulgam, out of 398,001 persons, 387,801 (97 percent) and 159,916 (42 percent) have received first and second jab respectively.
In Bandipora, of 297,486 persons 293,524 (99 percent) have received first jab and 118,194 (40 percent) have received the second jab.
Furthermore, in Baramulla, Kupwara, Pulwama and Ganderbal 96 percent, 88 percent, 99 percent and 96 percent peope above 18 have received first jab while as 47 percent, 39 percent, 40 percent and 52 percent have received second jab respectively.
In Bandipora of 764,541 persons 732,036 and 366,615, in Pulwama of 425,062 persons, 422,655 and 166,629 persons and in Ganderbal of 225,596 persons, 221,827 and 116,552 persons have received first and second jab respectively.
So far seven districts which include Anantnag, Budgam and Shopian in Kashmir while as Ramban, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu division which have already completed 100 percent vaccination of all above 18.
Kupwara with 88 percent vaccination and Kishtwar with 80 percent vaccination are lagging behind while vaccination percentage in other districts is over 90 percent. In aggregate, of 9,303,542 persons above 18 in J&K, 9,116,132 (98 percent) have received the first dose while 4,030,210 (43 percent) have received the second dose of vaccine in Kashmir—(KNO)
