60 CFTs illicit timber recovered, 3 arrested in Baramulla: Police

BARAMULLA: Baramulla police on Wednesday recovered 60 CFTs of illicit timber and arrested three smugglers for cutting down of forest in Uri.

Baramulla Police under the supervision of Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by Inspr Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO PS Uri arrested three smugglers namely Mohd Afzal Bhat S/O Ab Majeed Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Bhat S/O Ab Majeed & Naseer Ahmad Bhat all residents of Mothal Hanthlanga Uri who are being involved in cutting down illicit forest timber* and were selling at higher rates.

Illicit forest timber measuring about 60 CFTs* were recovered from their possession in Mothal Hathlanga Uri. Case under sections of Indian Forest Act registered in Police Station Uri* and investigation set in motion.
