5 OGWs booked under PSA in Ramban: Police

RAMBAN: Five Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) in the Ramban have been arrested and booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday.

The five arrested individuals have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Pala of Doligam, Banihal, Usman of Pogal Kunda Ramsu, Fardious Ahmad Khan of Krawa (at present, an old toll plaza in Banihal), Ab Hamid Khan of Tether, Banihal, and Anyatullah Wani of Gund Adalkoot in Banihal.

The arrests come two days after two labourers from Uttar Pradesh were killed after terrorists hurled a grenade at non-locals in the Herman area of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir, police said. The non-local labourers were identified as Manish Kumar and Ram Sagar. Both the victims are residents of the Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh.

The resistance front (TRF) had claimed responsibility for the attack and two terrorists have been arrested. As many as five labourers were sleeping in a tin shed when a hand grenade was lobbed inside the tin shed.
