42 kgs of charas recovered in Anantnag

Anantnag, Jan 16: Jammu and Kashmir police in a successful operation recovered 42 kgs of charas from a house in this south Kashmir, a police spokesman said on Saturday afternoon.

He said  on a specific information, a Police Party headed by SDPO Bijbehara along with Executive Magistrate Bijbehara raided a residential house of Bilal Ahmed Dar at Bonpora, Tulkhan.

During search, police recovered 42 Kgs of Charas powder concealed in two bags from the  house. However, the accused person is at large and efforts are on to effect his arrest, spokesman said.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation in the matter has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
