38-year-old man commits suicide in Anantnag

Srinagar, Nov 24: A 38-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging self in south Kashmir district of Anantnag on Tuesday.

Official sources said that panic gripped village Tantraypora in tourist resort of Kokernag, when the body of a man was found, hanging inside a room of his residence, by other family members. “The man as immediately taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead,” they said.

They said after completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.

 “It was not immediately clear why he took this extreme step,” they said, adding police has registered a case and initiated investigation to ascertain the circumstance which forced him to commit suicide.
