38 candidates withdraw nominations for Phase-V in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, NOV 27: According to District Panchayat Election Officer Anantnag, 38 candidates have withdrawn their nominations for Phase-V of upcoming DDC elections, Panchayat and ULB by-elections on the last date (26 November, 2020) for withdrawal of nominations.

Under phase-V, DDC elections are to be held in Vessu (comprising of Vessu & Qazigund blocks) and Dachnipora seats and Panchayat by-elections for Sarpanch & Panch vacancies in the three blocks viz Vessu, Qazigund and Dachnipora besides ULB by-elections for vacancies in Municipal Committee Qazigund.

These 38 withdrawals include 3 DDC, 2 Sarpanch, 31 Panch and 2 ULB nominations. This has left 262 candidates in fray for this phase.

The polling for this phase  will be held on 10 December, 2020 where ever it is necessary.
