SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory on Friday witnessed a single death due to Covid-19 while 261 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 3,300.

With 01 more death, the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,354 and 261 fresh positive cases reported on Friday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 318,284

Of the exact number of 318,284 cases, 197,626 are from the Kashmir division and 120,658 from the Jammu division. Officials that among 261 new cases, 146 belong to Kashmir division while as 115 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached 197,626 including 193,588 recoveries and 2,229 deaths while as a total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 120,658 including 117,042 recoveries and 2,125 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir is 3,300 including 1,809 from the Kashmir division and 1,491 from the Jammu division.

With 304 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 310,630 which is 97.60 per cent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 59 from Srinagar, 14 from Baramulla, 10 from Budgam, 04 from Pulwama, 11 from Kupwara, 12 from Anantnag, 05 from Bandipora, 14 from Ganderbal, 15 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 115 from Jammu division include 26 from Jammu, 02 from Udhampur, 06 from Rajouri, 34 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 02 from Samba, 09 from Kishtwar, 08 from Poonch, 10 from Ramban and 16 from Reasi,” officials disclosed

Meanwhile, authorities on Friday said that no fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as the black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 31. One Covid death has been reported from SMHS hospital Srinagar.

As per officials figures, 70,569 positive cases including 832 deaths and 69,088 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,382 including 280 deaths and 22,884 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,713 including 22,328  recoveries and 204 deaths are from Budgam, 13,924  including 13,599 recoveries and 193 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,924 including 165 deaths and 13,599 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,217 including 15,922 recoveries and 204 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,369 cases including 9,191 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,719 including 9,479 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,169 including 10,915 recoveries and 116 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,565 including 5,497 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 52,526 including 50,955 recoveries and 1,137 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,226 including 11,037  recoveries and 132 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,787 including 10,474 recoveries and 222 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,025 including 6,659 recoveries and 121 deaths are from Doda, 9,228 including 9,065 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Kathua, 7,096 including 6,924 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Samba, 4,543 including 4,412 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,166 including 5,940 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Poonch, 5,901 including 5,756 recoveries and 65 deaths are from Ramban and 6,160 including 5,820 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 2,528,982 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,152 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 3,300 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 2,247,670 persons have completed the surveillance period and 266,506 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 10,501,931 samples are available. Out of 10,501,931 the number of samples tested negative stands at 10,183,647 while as 318,284 have tested positive, among them 3,300 persons are active, 310,630  persons have recovered and 4,354 persons have died—(KNO)
