1953. The night Nehru remotely monitored Sheikh Abdullah’s dismissal, arrest

In the intervening night of August 8 and 9, 1953, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was dismissed as Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. He was subsequently arrested before the daybreak and jailed. Sadar-e-Reyasat Karan Singh thought he was addressing a constitutional crisis. The fact of the matter is that whole action was planned by Jawaharlal Nehru who monitored the events of that night remotely from New Delhi
