The Praja Parishad agitation of 1949-1953 was the most powerful and sustained agitation Jammu has ever seen. Encouraged by the RSS and also supported by Maharaja Hari Singh, the agitation was against the emerging compact between National Conference and the Nehru Government which was in process of shaping up special status of Jammu and Kashmir. This image is of a printed ticket, a receipt, used by Praja Parishad for raising funds.
