Seen here are Maharaja Pratap Singh and his elder brother Raja Amar Singh with Mahant (priest) at Chandanwari, during Amarnath Yatra in the year 1898. After Maharaja Ranbir Singh’s death, the British nominated Pratap as his successor, over Amar, whom Maharaja Ranbir had nominated twice in 1882 and 1884. After Maharaja Pratap Singh’s death in 1925, Hari Singh, son of Amar Singh, would go on to take over the reins of Jammu and Kashmir. | Sahil Rasgotra
