11 gamblers arrested, over Rs 1.18 lac recovered in Srinagar


Srinagar, Jul 22: Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday arrested 11 gamblers and recovered stake money over Rs 1.18 lakhs in the outskirts of Srinagar, a police spokesman said this evening.

He said following a tip off a Police Party (PP) led by Station House Officer (SHO) Zakoora raided a gambling site at Pathan Colony in the city outskirts.

During the raid eleven gamblers were arrested, he said adding stake money of Rs 118495 and three sets of playing cards were recovered.

In this regard case FIR No. 68/20 U/S 13 Gambling Act stands registered in Police Station (PS) Zakoora and investigation taken up.
