10 pilgrims injured in Katra accident

KATRA: Ten passengers travelling in a bus sustained injuries in a road accident that took place at Nomain on Katra-Jammu highway.

The accident took place when a bus carrying pilgrims turned turtle on the highway, leaving them wounded when they were returning from Maa Vaishnoo Devi shrine after paying obeisance.

Police told that a bus bearing registration number HR38Y-0111 was on way to Jammu from Katra and at a sharp turn at Nomain area on Katra-Jammu road, the bus turned turtle.

Ten passengers travelling in the bus sustained injuries in the accident, who were taken to Community Health Center Katra for treatment.

The injured have been identified as Bhumi Sharma (23) wife of Ajay Sharma, Ajay Sharma (28) son of Ram Manohar, Deepak Koushik (32) son of Manohar Kaushik, Dheeraj Mishra (27) son of Ashok Mishra, Vanish (11) son of Amit, Anita Singh (28) wife of Vinod Kumar, Salesh Pathak (30) son of Parmod Pathak, Atul Choudhary (30) son of Daleep Choudhary, Anu (30) wife of Deepak and Ritu (35) wife of Amit, all residents of Hathras in Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Police said to have started legal proceedings into the matter—(KNO)
